Welcome to the official website of Alpha Chapter, Inc. of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated. I have the privilege to serve as the 28th President of the Chapter and I am humbled by the opportunity to serve in this role.


Alpha Chapter, Inc. is the first chapter of this distinguished professional nursing organization consisting of registered nurses and nursing students. Our founding members established this chapter on October 16, 1932, with a vision to provide Service for Humanity. For over 93 years, the over 120 members of Alpha Chapter, Inc. have proudly served the greater Washington, DC area and upheld the Sorority’s five purposes:


  • Encourage the pursuit of continuing nursing education
  • Identify a core of nursing leaders to affect social change
  • Develop working relationships with other professional groups
  • Stimulate a close and friendly relationship among members
  • Recruitment programs for health careers

Our 2025–2027 theme is: “Empowering Excellence: Service, Leadership, and Legacy”.


Empowering Excellence: Inspiring members to achieve the highest standards in nursing practice, education, and community engagement. It’s about giving tools, resources, and support so everyone can excel.


Service: Reinforcing the Sorority’s commitment to Service for Humanity through health initiatives, community outreach, and programs that improve well-being.


Leadership: Developing strong nursing leaders who influence positive change in healthcare and society. This includes mentoring, advocacy, and professional growth.


Legacy: Honoring the rich history of Alpha Chapter, Inc. and ensuring its values and impact continue for future generations. It’s about building something lasting and meaningful.


We remain steadfast in our commitment to Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc.’s mission of developing healthy communities through advocacy, collaboration, education, leadership, research, and service.
